Demonstrating his sensibility for storytelling, Point Blank is a notably observant series of works that reads like a glimpse into Bob Dylan’s visual journal. 

In this piece, Dylan not only observes the human condition, but throws himself into it with great urgency. He draws us close with his intimate representation of a subject that appears to stem from a lived perspective, finding poetic resonance in the details. As the viewer, our imagination is provoked to contemplate the protagonist in the piece.

Based on a ‘quick study’ created between 2021 and 2022, the original drawing was then painted over with vibrant colours and expressive brushwork.
